Laser Guitar

Introduction

A Laser Guitar is basically an electric guitar where the readout is a photodiode.

Description of the Experiment

You send a laser beam onto a photodiode and strain some strings in between, so the strings block the path of the laser. The photodiode is connected to an amplifier which amplifies the system and sends it to the sound system. If you pull the strings, they beging to vibrate and then some light arrives at the photodiode. Then you hear the sounds. You can now hold your hand in front of the photodiode and the music stops.

Safety Information

Use low power laser and don't look into the laserbeam
